About IANR

The International Association of Neurorestoratology (IANR) is a global initiative dedicated to advancing both basic and clinical research in neurorestoratology and fostering international scientific collaboration. Established in 2007, IANR aims to bridge the gap between fundamental research and clinical practice, accelerating the transition from laboratory discoveries to real-world treatments. The association reflects the core principles of translational medicine by transforming breakthroughs in neurorestoratology into effective clinical strategies, ultimately improving patient care and outcomes.
Since its inception, IANR has hosted an annual conference at rotating locations worldwide, providing a premier platform for researchers and clinicians from Europe, America, Africa, and Asia to share knowledge and discuss recent advancements in neurorestorative mechanism and therapeutic exploration. This gathering promotes interdisciplinary exchange and strengthens global partnerships in the field.
The association’s founding leadership includes:
- Hongyun Huang (China) – Founding President
- Geoffrey Raisman (UK) – Honorary President
- Ziad M. Al Zoubi (Jordan) – Honorary President
- Wise Young (USA)– Honorary President
The IANR conference attracts leading researchers and clinicians from around the world, offering a platform for presenting cutting-edge scientific research and clinical advancements. Topics covered span a wide range of neurorestorative fields. Through its coordinated global efforts, IANR continues to push the boundaries of Neurorestoratology, accelerating the development of innovative treatments and ensuring that patients benefit directly from the latest scientific advancements.

Background of the Association
Neural regeneration, structural repair, neuroplasticity, neuromodulation, and functional recovery represent some of the greatest challenges in modern neuroscience. These areas have witnessed rapid advancements, leading to significant breakthroughs and the emergence of a new interdisciplinary field—neurorestoratology.
Previously considered irreversible, damage to the nervous system is now being approached with new hope. Thanks to growing research in neural repair and protection, what was once thought to be untreatable now shows promise for effective therapeutic intervention.
To support this evolving science and bridge the gap between basic research and clinical application, the International Association of Neurorestoratology (IANR) was founded. The goal of IANR is to unite global efforts, facilitate translational medicine, and accelerate the development of innovative therapies for neurological conditions.
Association’s Character and Membership Composition
